Job Description:

Join Cisco's Common Hardware Group (CHG) in San Jose, CA, where you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge silicon, optics, and hardware platforms for core Switching, Routing, and Wireless products. This role focuses on designing high-speed interconnects for global data centers, supporting both internal and external customers with Silicon One high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute electrical characterization testing for high-speed interconnect devices.
  • Support characterization, validation, compliance, and system integration of Silicon One devices.
  • Collaborate with ASIC, system, and signal integrity teams to evaluate design tradeoffs and optimize solutions.
  • Develop automation and analysis tools for lab measurements and data processing using Python and/or Matlab.
  • Drive methodology development and best practices for high-speed solutions.

Qualifications:

  • MSEE or Computer Engineering degree with 5+ years of lab experience, or BSEE with 7+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with high-speed interface systems and lab measurements.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces and analog building blocks (PLL, CDR, CTLE, DFE, FFE, FEC).
  • Programming knowledge in Python and C/C++.
  • Strong debugging skills.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of high-speed optical testing.
  • Strong documentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical communication skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with various technical teams.
  • Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 and OIF specifications.
