LVT

Low Vt Cells are doped to have their threshold voltage lower than the threshold voltage of the standard –Vt (SVT) cell. While this increases the standby leakage, the propagation delay is less, thereby making their use quite useful in those portions of the chip which are critical for performance. Modern synthesis tools use both LVT and HVT cells in conjunction while implementing complex algorithms aimed at minimizing the product of delay and power. Also see: HVT.
