Job Description:
Join Lockheed Martin Space as an ASIC & FPGA Engineer, supporting diverse programs in military and commercial space sectors. This full-time position is based in Sunnyvale, CA; King of Prussia, PA; Denver, CO; or Highlands Ranch, CO, with a flexible 9x80 work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with multiple programs as a trusted advisor.
- Lead a high-performing team of up to 7 people, prioritizing and allocating tasks for successful project execution.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring results within +/- 10% of schedule and budget.
- Monitor and manage team workloads, tracking progress and ensuring clear communication with project engineers and managers.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence through mentorship and guidance on architecture, code, and best practices.
- Balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring project oversight is maintained.
- Review and release all work products to agreed quality standards.
- Collaborate with teams to identify and scope new opportunities and support completed work.
- Perform advanced chip architecture work for new programs.
- Prepare regular status reports and materials for operations reviews.
- Assist manager in reviewing project plans and technical proposal development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in ASIC or FPGA design, debug, or verification.
- US Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Skills:
- Experience in leading or managing ASIC or FPGA projects.
- Demonstrated self-starter with a strong desire to learn.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ).
- Experience in space system design and understanding of related hardware requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent, Microsoft Office, and Atlassian JIRA or equivalent.
- Experience as a Control Accounts Manager (CAM) using Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
- Customer-facing communication experience in product/services sales or marketing.
