Job Description:

Collins Aerospace is seeking a motivated Electrical or Computer Engineering candidate to join their Product Enabling Technologies team in El Segundo, CA. This role involves the design, implementation, verification, and integration of high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs for signal processing and information assurance products. Candidates must possess an active U.S. government issued security clearance and be U.S. citizens.

Responsibilities:

  • Support requirements capture and ASIC/FPGA digital architecture.
  • Implement ASIC/FPGA digital design using RTL.
  • Support verification and system integration of ASIC/FPGA implementations.
  • Collaborate with an experienced team to learn best practices and engineering processes.
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies developed in-house and by external vendors.
  • Learn how ASICs and FPGAs are utilized in communications, security, and space-based products.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Active and transferable SECRET U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.

Skills:

  • RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with debugging and root cause investigations on hardware using schematics and digital lab equipment.
  • Familiarity with ASIC/FPGA design tools (e.g., Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado).
  • Understanding of digital circuit architecture and resource tradeoffs.
  • Background in signal processing and/or information assurance is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with signal processing system simulation tools (e.g., Matlab, Simulink).
  • Knowledge of revision control concepts and tools (e.g., Git, Subversion).
