Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an entry-level engineer to join its edge AI design team, focusing on developing and verifying next-generation AI/ML acceleration hardware platforms. Responsibilities:

  • Design digital logic circuits for FPGA-based emulation platforms and custom silicon.
  • Contribute to device feature set definition.
  • Design and/or verify device features.
  • Perform development activities including integration, synthesis, and static timing analysis (STA).
  • Execute functional block-level microarchitecture and RTL design.
  • Conduct RTL simulation, debugging, and linting.
  • Support low-power design methodologies.
  • Automate design flow activities using Python.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), or related fields with a focus on IC development.
  • 0-3 years of experience or academic background in digital design and firmware development for embedded systems.

Skills:

  • Master's degree in ECE, EE, CS, or related fields with a focus on IC development (ideal).
  • Experience with ASIC and/or FPGA development flow.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts, hardware acceleration techniques, and edge computing applications.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog for logic design; UVM exposure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems architecture including SoC, DMA, and power management concepts.
  • Hands-on lab experience in debugging and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
