Job Description:

The NPI Manufacturing Engineer serves as a crucial link between Design, Production, and Contract Manufacturers, focusing on continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. This role emphasizes the application of lean principles to enhance efficiency, product quality, and safety standards within production environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between Design, Production, and Contract Manufacturers.
  • Apply lean principles to improve manufacturing processes, including throughput and labor efficiency.
  • Implement ergonomic and safety standards in manufacturing environments.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and ensure production requirements are met.
  • Support production of electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic hardware by solving problems and maintaining process control.
  • Participate in new product introduction, including design for manufacturing reviews and initial build set-up.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction and quality improvement actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of plant experience, preferably in PCB or cable and harness assembly.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of process development and control, particularly in PCB and cable assembly.
  • Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing/Design for Test inputs during product development.
  • Knowledge of plant safety, OSHA regulations, and hazardous material handling.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in developing computer-based methods and procedures.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a focus on training operators.
  • Formal training in Lean Manufacturing techniques and problem-solving skills (e.g., Six Sigma).
