Manufacturing Engineer, Hardware Engineering Services – Manufacturing

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join its Hardware Engineering team, focusing on enhancing the quality of AWS products in a dynamic international manufacturing environment. The role involves collaboration with various teams and vendors to ensure high standards of hardware quality and to address any early-life product failures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage quality at Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and vendors.
• Provide on-site support for new product launches.
• Design for quality and manufacturability of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), servers, and racks.
• Identify root causes of customer-impacting issues and drive resolutions.
• Travel domestically and internationally (25%-50%).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with PCBA manufacturing, assembly, or test processes.
• 3+ years of experience working with PCBA manufacturing suppliers (ODMs/CMs) to improve incoming quality of electronic assemblies.

Skills:

• Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole assembly processes.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles.
• Familiarity with ISO and IEC regulatory standards.
• Experience with server, networking, or cloud infrastructure PCBA manufacturing and testing.
• Proficiency in automated test equipment (ATE) and failure analysis techniques.
