Job Description:

The PCB Electronics Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing printed circuit boards (PCBs) using advanced equipment. This role involves identifying defects, performing root cause analysis, and maintaining detailed records of testing procedures and results.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional testing of PCBs according to established test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of low-volume printed circuit boards at the component level.
  • Utilize sophisticated testing and analysis equipment to inspect and test boards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on board failures to identify manufacturing defects or defective components.
  • Complete test procedures and maintain process records using MS Excel.
  • Keep detailed records of testing performed and defects discovered.
  • Perform printed circuit board assembly rework as needed.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work station.
  • Execute additional duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • A.S. or B.S. Degree from a College, University, or Technical School, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, or repairing boards with SMT and through-hole components.
  • Proficiency in using scopes and meters.
  • Ability to solder and use electronic assembly tools.
  • Capability to read and interpret detailed electronic assembly drawings, schematics, and process documents.

Skills:

  • IPC J-STD-001 & IPC-7711/7721 certification or training (preferred).
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
