Job Description:

Arm is seeking an Implementation Engineer to join its Solutions Engineering group in San Diego, California. This role focuses on enhancing chip design techniques, improving power, performance, and system integration of Arm's products, and developing methodologies for implementation and analysis. The engineer will work collaboratively across divisions to drive improved implementation for Arm and its partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize and implement CPU and GPU cores, system interconnect, and other ARM IP, SoC.
  • Analyze design timing, area, and power to enhance ARM IP quality.
  • Develop and deploy methodologies to improve implementation efficiency and results.
  • Support detailed implementation analysis and data-mining methodologies.
  • Collaborate with RTL design teams to optimize IP analysis and performance.
  • Transform R&D concepts into practical implementation solutions.
  • Assist partners in achieving optimal quality of results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in ASIC Implementation, Physical design, Tape-out, STA, and Timing closure.
  • Proven ability to communicate insights effectively and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in silicon implementation techniques and methodologies, with a focus on international collaboration.
  • Familiarity with the entire IC design flow from RTL to GDS2.

Skills:

  • Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, R, Make, and sh.
  • Knowledge of Arm-based CPUs and SoCs is a plus.
  • Experience with low power design techniques like power gating and voltage/frequency scaling.
  • Familiarity with Verilog RTL design and ATPG tools or production testing.
