ICsense Increases In-House ASIC Volume Production Capability with Opening of New Electrical Wafer Sort Cleanroom

Publish Date: | Author:

January 21st, 2026: ICsense, a TDK Group company and leading fab-independent European design group with world class expertise in analog, digital, mixed signal and high voltage integrated circuit design, has opened a new Electronic Wafer Sort (EWS) cleanroom as part of its latest strategic investment programme. With the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) market growing significantly, expected to reach an estimated $41.68 billion by 2034 at a CAGR of 7% from 2026 to 2034[1], ICsense has not only ramped up its in-house production capabilities to provide a complete turnkey EWS and final-test (FT) ASIC solution, it’s fab independence means customers benefit from flexibility in foundry selection, process technologies and scalable large volume production.

ICsense has been active in custom ASIC supply since 2004 through its partner network, and this extension of in-house test capabilities further strengthens its position as a leading ASIC supplier. Specifically, this new investment in in-house Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and expanded production/testing capacity will help ICsense to support large volumes of over 500 million ASIC units annually. As Europe’s leading fab-independent design company, ICsense enables customers to access the best available technology while reducing geopolitical risk and improving supply-chain resilience. Today, it is one of the few organizations to offer the entire ASIC development and supply chain fully in house.

“Over the last few years, ICsense has been investing heavily in its ability to offer a complete turnkey ASIC testing solution to customers. These in-house capabilities come on top of the existing supply model we have offered through OSATs for over a decade. This follows significant growth in demand from a number of industry sectors, including automotive, MedTech, industrial and consumer-based applications,” explains ICsense’s CEO Bram De Muer. “Within these sectors, demand for ICs that meet stringent quality and reliability standards has pushed us to employ rigorous design techniques. For example, ICsense works according to ISO13485 (MedTech) and ISO262626 (automotive) compliance standards. This means we stop at nothing to make sure our customers receive the highest quality solutions.”

This latest investment complements ICsense’s earlier expansion in ATE platforms and reinforces the organization’s position as one of the few fab-independent ASIC design companies offering the full development and supply track in-house.

“We want to be customers first and only choice when it comes to the development of analog, mixed signal and digital ASICs,” concludes De Muer. “Our ability to handle the complete chain from architecture definition to in-house test development and now mass production of over 500 million custom ASIC units, through a combination of in-house testing and through our partner network, takes us to a place where we can be the only partner our customers need.”
