Our core business is sensor interfaces, which include the analog front end (AFE), signal conditioning and connectivity (wired or wireless) resulting in either an ASIC, System on Chip (SoC) or System in Package (SiP) solution, as required. Swindon is a full turnkey (FtK) custom IC solution provider which encompasses in house design, productization, production test (package and wafer), QA and order fulfillment services.

 

Swindon are the global leader in the design and supply of Tyre Pressure Monitoring System ASICs (TPMS) with over 500 million sensors in the field, enabled by Swindon technology. Swindon provides our customers with a quality custom IC solution, for the lifetime of their product, to industrial, automotive or aerospace and defence standards.

 

Swindon only designs and supplies custom ICs and does not sell standard products. This ensures that our customer’s intellectual property is for the benefit of them, and them alone. Swindon also provides a continuity of supply assurance, where we do not make an ASIC obsolete. Our customers benefit from knowing that their custom IC will be available for the lifetime of their product.

Custom IC Solutions

Swindon’s enhanced analogue, digital and mixed-signal ASICs, designed to our customer’s demanding requirements, provides our customer’s end product with a distinct and unique technical and commercial advantage.

 

Swindon’s full turnkey service (FtK) starts from initial specifications through to the supply of volume tested and calibrated ASICs including in house analogue and mixed signal design, production test, packaging, logistics and supply chain management.

 

Swindon also provides full evaluation, characterisation, industrial and automotive qualification (e.g. AEC Q100) and full failure analysis in accordance with defined industry standards such as TS 16949.

 

Analogue IC design is one of Swindon’s primary areas of expertise. Over the years we have developed many analogue IP blocks which can be used across many applications.

 

Our proven analogue design covers many areas such as analogue to digital Convertors (ADC), digital to analogue Convertors (DAC), amplifiers (OP Amps, PGA, TIA, LNA, VGA etc), synthesizers, voltage regulators and convertors (many different architectures), voltage controlled oscillators (VCO’s), constant current generator and filters to name but a few.

 

Integrating a DSP or advanced processor onto your mixed signal ASIC, is common place today. Swindon has designs with anything from our own custom 16bit RISC microcontroller, an 8bit 8051 microcontroller, a custom processing block to an ARM Cortex processor.

 

We work with our automotive and industrial sensor customers to assess and then deliver the optimum architect for their application.

Design and Supply of Automotive ASICs
