Job Description:

Micron Technology is seeking an ASIC Architect to join its ASIC architecture team, focusing on memory and storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SOC design and implementation, with a focus on enhancing the performance and quality of storage-based controllers.

Responsibilities:

  • Review product and firmware requirements.
  • Collaborate with ASIC and system architects to define feature sets and data/control flows.
  • Define requirements for ASIC design, verification, and physical implementation teams.
  • Evaluate trade-offs in area, performance, power, and implementation solutions.
  • Review and configure third-party IPs.
  • Support other teams in the ASIC organization and review their work.
  • Assist product teams with documentation, code reviews, and silicon debug.
  • Identify opportunities for improving design quality and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of RTL design in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Experience in SOC design, verification, and implementation flows.
  • Scripting and Unix shell language experience (e.g., Perl, Python).
  • Ability to read and understand software/firmware code.
  • Understanding of CPU and memory architectures, data path pipelining, and ASIC low-power implementations.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, CXL, and UFS in storage applications.
  • Experience with hardware modeling languages.
  • ASIC architecture experience in storage products (e.g., SSD, eMMC, UFS, USB).
  • Design experience with high-speed serial and parallel interfaces (e.g., PCIe, MIPI, DDR).
  • Familiarity with automotive design and qualification processes.
