Job Description:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced Hardware Design Engineers to join the Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team. This role focuses on designing and optimizing hardware for AWS's cloud server infrastructure, which supports a vast array of businesses globally. The position emphasizes verification and validation of hardware and software solutions to meet ambitious customer metrics, all within a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize hardware for AWS data centers.
  • Verify and validate hardware and software solutions to ensure functionality.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive verification/validation plans.
  • Measure team progress towards customer metrics and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with technology thought-leaders to enhance product performance, quality, and cost.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in identifying bugs in architecture, algorithms, functionality, and performance.
  • Strong debugging skills across multiple levels of logic from IP blocks to SoCs to full system testing.

Skills:

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience with formal verification techniques, including abstraction and end-to-end checking (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ARM and various DSP ISAs (preferred).
  • Knowledge of current and upcoming RF standards in cellular (4G/5G NR), WiMAX, and broadband wireless standards (preferred).
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools and scripting languages (Python or Perl) for automation (preferred).
