Digital Design Engineer

Forza Silicon, a leading innovator in mixed-signal IC and CMOS imaging designs, is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join their team in Pasadena, CA. This role involves overseeing all phases of ASIC design projects, ensuring that designs meet performance, power, and specifications while collaborating with various teams and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all phases of design projects, including specification and architectural design.
• Perform floor planning, placement, routing, and optimization for efficient chip layout.
• Convert RTL code into gate-level netlist, ensuring design meets area, power, and performance targets.
• Conduct static timing analysis (STA) to meet timing requirements across various conditions.
• Perform power analysis and optimization to achieve stringent power targets.
• Ensure design adheres to manufacturing rules and resolve discrepancies (DRC, LVS).
• Prepare design for tapeout, including final checks and documentation.
• Collaborate with front-end design teams, verification teams, and EDA tool vendors.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation to improve design efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to physical design, timing, and power.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of design processes and methodologies.
• Participate in technical reviews with design teams and customers.
• Work with test engineers on test hardware and plans, and participate in block level bring-up.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Tcl for automation.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and design methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of digital design principles, including RTL design and verification.
