Job Description:

Nokia in Westford, MA is looking for a skilled engineer specializing in Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design to enhance its scalable IP routing solutions across various network types. The successful candidate will work within a diverse team to implement high-availability IP routing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the board design engineering team to create optimal programmable solutions that meet product specifications.
  • Draft detailed design, functional, and programming guideline specifications.
  • Design, verify, and implement CPLD/FPGA solutions with a focus on cost, testability, and migratability.
  • Work with the diagnostic engineering team to support bring-up, DVT, and manufacturing testing.
  • Coordinate with the software engineering team for functional testing and feature implementation.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and/or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in developing programmable solutions.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of digital electronic design principles and clocked synchronous circuit design.
  • Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages (HDL) such as VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog (VHDL preferred).
  • Experience with Xilinx, Altera, and Lattice synthesis and PNR toolsets; knowledge of static timing and power analysis.
  • Familiarity with networking standards, external memory interfaces, and serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, SVID, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
