Short Circuit Power

Short Circuit power is that component of the dynamic power which is consumed when both the NMOS and PMOS are on for a small instant of time when the inputs are making a transition and a direct path exists between the power supply and the ground. It typically contributes to 10% of the total dynamic power dissipated in the circuit. Short circuit power is a function of the switching frequency, supply voltage, output slew and the input slew.
