TES offers a new 30V Hysteretic Buck LED Driver IP with precise current control and wide dimming range

TES Electronic Solutions GmbH offers a new LED driver to address the growing demand for reliable LED lighting control in smart home, industrial and automotive environments.

The TS_LEDDRV_30V0A5_X8 is a non-synchronous hysteretic Buck LED driver designed to deliver stable current regulation and flexible dimming options for high-voltage LED strings. The IP fits within a compact area of 0.85 mm² and is implemented using X-FAB XT018-0.18µm BCD-on-SOI CMOS process.

• High-voltage power inputs: The driver operates with an input voltage range of 20 VDC to 30 VDC, making it suitable for systems requiring high-voltage power inputs.
• High-Resolution Dimming: The driver supports hybrid PWM and hysteretic dimming, achieving an approximate 1000:1 resolution. This allows for smooth brightness control, which is essential for user comfort in visible lighting applications.
• Wide Current Range: It can handle up to 500 mA of LED current with an LED string voltage of up to 18 V.
• Flexible Frequency Operation: The switching frequency ranges from 150 kHz to 4 MHz, allowing designers to optimize performance based on specific inductor and current requirements.
• Direct Control Mode: The device supports direct NMOS switch control, enabling it to drive external constant current regulators in complex setups.
