Hi erany, If you need to solder the socket to the loadboard, you should use receptacle, in order to be able to easily change the socket when needed (e.g.: maintenance). Furthermore, most of the times, the loadboard is too thick for the sockets, so you will need to use a long leads receptacle. If the socket you are using is pogo pins socket, that mounts on the loadboard with screws, you don't need to use receptacle. Yovav.
