IP-Maker announces the availability of a NVMe Host reference design, to be showcased at Flash Memory Summit, in Santa Clara, on August 7 to 9. It highlights the integration of the NVMe Host IP from IP-Maker in a powerful FPGA, able to manage data transfer with a Gen3 x4 NVMe SSD, without requiring any CPU and software. This technology delivers a best in class performance per watt NVMe Host manager, ready to accelerate next generation of server architectures.

As NVMe is the new standard storage interface, new fast interfaces to NVMe SSDs are required. The NVMe host IP is a full hardware accelerator replacing the software NVMe host driver. It can be used in numerous applications such as:
-NVMe to NVMe Host Bus Adapter: NVMe SSD aggregation to improve the system performance and reliability with an advanced namespace management.
-Computational storage: adding advanced computing to the HBA controller for a local processing
-Data centric architecture: making a low latency bridge between interconnects and NVMe SSDs
The demo will be showcased on IP-Maker booth (#710) and explained during a session at the conference on Tuesday Aug 7.
