Tell me a bit about your background? How did you first get started with SmartSoC Solutions?
After completing my education in engineering, I started my career in the semiconductor industry, working on silicon design and implementation. Over the years, I gained hands-on experience in various aspects of chip design and product engineering, working with global semiconductor companies. Recognising the growing need for specialised semiconductor design services, I founded SmartSoC Solutions in 2016 with a vision to provide end-to-end design solutions for the industry. From a small team, we have grown into a global organization with over 1,350 employees, 5 design centres, presence in 8 countries, and a strong presence across key semiconductor markets.

SmartSoC Solutions is a leading semiconductor design service company specialising in Chip design, Product design, Digital & AI-driven solutions. We partner with some of the world’s largest semiconductor companies providing expertise in ASIC design,RTL Verification, physical design, embedded software development. As a member of the TSMC Design Center Alliance (DCA), we are committed to fostering innovation and advancing semiconductor technology. Our focus is on delivering cutting-edge solutions that power next-generation devices across industries like automotive, AI, networking, and consumer electronics.We have started foundry services recently to help customers by providing working silicon for their custom ASIC’s.
How has the role/offering of SmartSoC Solutions evolved in recent years?
SmartSoC Solutions has undergone a remarkable transformation, growing from a specialized Semiconductor services company into a full-fledged “ Custom ASIC provider across multiple industries”.Our foundry services along with design expertise helps us to be a one stop solution.
In recent years, we have expanded our capabilities in ASIC design, Embedded Systems, Hardware Development & Validation, and AI/ML-driven solutions. The launch of our AI/ML Center of Excellence (CoE) and Hinton AI Studio IPs underscores our commitment to pioneering innovation in semiconductor design and AI integration.
Geographically, we have strengthened our global presence by expanding into Finland, South Korea, Israel, Malaysia, and Canada, while establishing new design centers in India. Our partnership with TSMC as a Design Center Alliance (DCA) member further builds our role as a key player in the semiconductor industry.
Additionally, we have made significant strides in Automotive Functional Safety and Edge AI, catering to the increasing demand for intelligent, high-performance semiconductor solutions in next-generation vehicles.
With over 1,350 new employees in 2024, we are scaling rapidly to meet industry needs, delivering end-to-end solutions that empower businesses to innovate and stay ahead in an ever-evolving technological landscape. Our journey is defined by agility, expertise, and a strong commitment to excellence.
Which market segments seem most promising to you? And why?
The automotive and AI segments are particularly exciting. The shift toward electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous driving is increasing the demand for high-performance semiconductor solutions, from battery management to advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). AI-driven applications, including edge computing, are also experiencing massive growth, requiring powerful and efficient chip designs. We see strong opportunities in these areas and are investing in capabilities to support the next wave of innovation.
What is a typical customer for SmartSoC Solutions?
Our customer base ranges from semiconductor giants to emerging startups. Large companies rely on us for specialized design services, helping them accelerate chip development and optimize performance. Mid-sized and startup companies often look to us for end-to-end solutions, leveraging our expertise to bring their semiconductor innovations to market efficiently. Whether it’s a multinational corporation or a growing technology firm, we tailor our approach to meet their unique design and engineering needs.
Have you noticed any shifts in customer expectations in recent years?
Absolutely. Speed, efficiency, and first-time-right silicon are more critical than ever. In the past, semiconductor development followed a sequential process, but today, everything is happening in parallel design, verification, testing, and production readiness all need to be tightly integrated. Customers want faster turnaround times, improved power efficiency, and AI-driven automation in design processes. We have adapted by integrating AI into our workflows and optimizing our design methodologies to meet these evolving demands.

I believe in maintaining a balance between work and personal life. Playing Badminton, performing Yoga, spending time with family, and traveling to unwind. Keeping an active mind and a fresh perspective helps me return to work with renewed focus and enthusiasm.
