Ridgetop Group and BaySand Partner to Expand Mixed-Signal IP Portfolio

Ridgetop Group, Inc. and Silicon Valley-based BaySand Inc., the leader in application configurable application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), today announced they will work cooperatively to develop a series of new applications to increase their existing mixed-signal intellectual property core (IP) portfolios.

Through a wide-ranging partnership, they also will offer system-on-chip (SoC) developers in Silicon Valley and Asia design expertise and field programmable gate array (FPGA)-to-ASIC conversion for mass production using Ridgetop Group technology.

The partnership will showcase and leverage their complementary skills. Ridgetop Group is noted for its extensive knowledge developing semiconductor intellectual property (SIP), built-in self-test (BIST) solutions for critical applications, and board-level solutions for optimized integrated subsystems and systems. BaySand will apply its design, sales and marketing expertise to reach a broader community of SoC developers, extending its capabilities around its Silicon Platform design.

“BaySand will be a creative and formidable partner marketing and selling our IP, general products and services throughout Silicon Valley and Asia,” remarks Craig Wentzel, Ridgetop Group’s senior vice president of Worldwide Business Operations. “Ridgetop Group and BaySand together will be a powerhouse of mixed-signal IP and service offerings.”

“Our partnership will catapult Ridgetop Group and its IP portfolio into new application and markets,” states Moazzem Hossain, BaySand’s executive vice president for Design Solution. “The benefits of combining Ridgetop Group’s IP portfolio with ours and our ASIC capabilities will offer shorter time to market and lower-cost manufacturing.”
