Job Description:
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a talented ASIC & FPGA Design Engineer to join their Silicon Solutions team. This role involves supporting a diverse range of programs in military and civil space, missile defense, satellite surveillance, and deep space exploration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microchip design and a passion for space technology.
Responsibilities:
- Support over 50 different programs and R&D efforts in various space and defense sectors.
- Design and develop FPGAs and ASICs for military and commercial applications.
- Engage in the full ASIC/FPGA life cycle including architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration, and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in designing FPGAs, digital ASICs, or mixed-signal ASICs.
- Proficiency in HDL programming (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog).
- Experience in a Linux development environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.
Skills:
- Experience in the ASIC/FPGA life cycle.
- FPGA/ASIC verification experience.
- Electronics design and lab integration skills.
- Familiarity with space-grade FPGAs and ASICs, including toolsets like AMD/Xilinx Vivado or Microchip Libero.
- Knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
