Job Description:
Lockheed Martin is seeking an FPGA Design & Verification Engineer to join their Advanced Technologies team in Orlando, Florida. This role involves creating innovative FPGA-based solutions for defense and aerospace systems, focusing on high-performance computing, signal processing, and real-time control.
Responsibilities:
- Capture and derive system requirements for FPGA designs.
- Design, simulate, and integrate FPGA architectures.
- Develop verification environments and troubleshoot existing designs.
- Write HDL code (SystemVerilog preferred, VHDL acceptable) and generate synthesis, placement, routing, and timing constraints.
- Develop self-checking verification testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Run simulations with Synopsys VCS, analyze results, and iterate designs to meet performance goals.
- Manage source control and continuous integration pipelines in GitLab.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to integrate FPGA designs into product systems.
- Perform board-level integration, debugging, and troubleshooting of FPGA implementations.
- Conduct timing analysis, power budgeting, and resource utilization studies.
- Document design specifications, verification plans, and test results according to design assurance processes.
- Support design review meetings and provide status updates to project leadership.
- Mentor junior team members on HDL coding and verification methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience with FPGA design and simulation verification.
- Familiarity with Synopsys EDA tools.
Skills:
- Experience with SystemVerilog, Verilog, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of Synopsys Synplify, VCS, NCSim, ChipScope tool sets.
- Experience with Xilinx/AMD and MicroSemi/Microchip FPGA families.
- Familiarity with aerospace design techniques.
- Experience implementing NSA algorithms (e.g., AES).
- Proficient in GitLab for configuration control management.
- Experience with Vivado and Vitis FPGA toolsets.
- Comfortable using digital oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
