Job Description:

QSC is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to develop and maintain test strategies for validating the performance and reliability of hardware products. This role is integral to ensuring that products meet functional requirements and long-term reliability expectations, collaborating with various engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive hardware test plans, test cases, and validation strategies for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Design automated and manual test setups to validate PCBs, subsystems, and complete products.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware failures using lab equipment.
  • Conduct HALT/HASS, environmental stress tests, thermal cycling, and long-term reliability tests.
  • Evaluate product robustness and identify potential design weaknesses early in the development cycle.
  • Develop automated test scripts using Python and implement data collection methods to improve test coverage.
  • Maintain test fixtures, custom tooling, and instrumentation used in product validation.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to influence design-for-testability and design-for-reliability.
  • Support manufacturing test transfer and troubleshoot issues at contract manufacturers.
  • Document all test results, procedures, and engineering findings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware test, validation, or hardware development.

Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and electronic measurement tools.
  • Ability to design basic custom circuits and PCBAs and develop custom test fixtures.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and understanding electronic circuit behavior.
  • Experience with Python and adapting to custom test automation frameworks.
  • Willingness to travel as required for NPI projects and remote support during product launches.
