Responsibilities:

  • Design and build PCBs, including schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and bring-up for embedded industrial systems.
  • Ruggedize designs for real-world conditions, ensuring compliance with EMI/EMC, ESD, surge, grounding/shielding, thermal performance, vibration, and ingress constraints.
  • Evaluate and select hardware components, including sensors, compute modules, power architectures, and communication modules, considering availability, lifecycle, and cost.
  • Support IIoT connectivity by integrating and validating various communication interfaces, focusing on reliability and serviceability.
  • Collaborate on machine vision integration, including camera and illumination interface selection and signal integrity considerations.
  • Develop validation and test strategies, creating test plans and fixtures, and conducting electrical, thermal, and environmental testing.
  • Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) to improve production readiness and yield.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in embedded hardware design and development.
  • Familiarity with industrial-grade electronic hardware and ruggedization techniques.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
  • Strong understanding of EMI/EMC, ESD, and thermal management principles.
  • Experience with IIoT connectivity and industrial communication protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with firmware/software teams and manufacturing partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
