Job Description:

Infleqtion, a global leader in quantum technology, is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to develop and integrate advanced Quantum RF (QRF) sensing systems. This role involves designing gateware, software, and hardware for opto-electrical control systems, collaborating with a cross-functional team to transition quantum systems from lab to field applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and gateware for QRF systems.
  • Contribute to the development of control system architectures for quantum sensors.
  • Integrate subsystems into quantum systems, including verification and debugging.
  • Ensure high test coverage using CI pipelines and hardware test beds.
  • Develop programmable logic and low-level CPU interfaces for integrated systems.
  • Create test scripts for subsystem validation.
  • Support board bring-up and debugging efforts, providing feedback to design teams.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and physics teams for system integration.
  • Enhance system usability and reliability for applications and demo teams.
  • Operate and interface with electrical and optical lab test equipment.
  • Work with Rust firmware engineers to define architecture and drivers.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in embedded systems, FPGA development, or mixed signal design.
  • Familiarity with embedded system development in Rust or C/C++, and FPGA development in HDL with RF synthesis experience.
  • Experience interfacing with hardware (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Experience with common benchtop test equipment.

Skills:

  • Experience with RF systems, signal generation, or data acquisition hardware.
  • Familiarity with control systems or feedback loops.
  • Experience with FPGA-based systems.
  • Experience developing test or automation frameworks.
  • Exposure to scientific instrumentation or R&D environments.
  • Exposure to hardware design and schematic capture.
