Job Description:

SRI International's Microcircuit Emulation Center (MEC) is seeking an IC Design Engineer to support the manufacturing of microcircuits through its Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program. This role, based in Princeton, NJ, involves providing replacements for obsolete microcircuits, ensuring production, redesign, and sustainment for weapon systems. SRI is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, and verify digital and analog circuits.
  • Review specifications and requirements to determine appropriate designs for emulating original parts.
  • Design and verify analog circuits, including OpAmps, Comparators, and Regulators.
  • Support layout engineers with macro cell layouts and ensure correct post-layout functionality.
  • Collaborate with test engineers to develop characterization and qualification tests.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government contract requirements.
  • Minimum BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • Understanding of CAD tools (Schematic entry, layout, DRC, LVS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with basic VLSI concepts.
  • Experience in design, simulation, and verification using schematic capture, SPICE simulation, HDL modeling, and verification.

  • Proficiency in digital and analog circuit design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
