Job Description:

The ATE Engineer position in Hauppauge, NY, is a 9-12 month contract role focused on designing, developing, and supporting automated test equipment for aerospace and defense applications. The role requires expertise in LabVIEW and mixed-signal test systems, with a strong emphasis on working in an ITAR-controlled environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, upgrade, and support automated test equipment for production and qualification testing.
  • Integrate NI PXI PCI hardware, DAQ cards, chassis, and third-party hardware.
  • Support avionics and aerospace programs, including mixed-signal products and sub-assemblies.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting, system bring-up, calibration, and failure analysis.
  • Work within ITAR requirements and handle controlled data.
  • Design and develop automated test systems using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python.
  • Support production testing of analog, digital, embedded processor, and FPGA-based systems.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot common I/O and communication protocols.
  • Manage software code repositories and support CI/CD processes.
  • Perform bench testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, DAQs, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Support environmental and compliance testing per military and aerospace standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in test system software and hardware development.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to handle ITAR data.

Skills:

  • Strong expertise with NI PXI PCI hardware and DAQ systems.
  • Solid foundation in LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python.
  • Experience with mixed-signal test systems and production test environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, calibration, and system bring-up skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
