Job Description:

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network aimed at providing reliable internet connectivity to underserved areas. The role involves leading the implementation of digital chip SOCs for communication via satellites and gateways, focusing on innovative wireless solutions without legacy constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up logic and physical synthesis flows for various technology nodes.
  • Collaborate with ASIC design and DFT teams to create timing constraints.
  • Check RTL design for clean synthesis runs and perform STA and LEC on netlist.
  • Coordinate with RFIC teams for proper integration of analog blocks and conduct formal connectivity checks.
  • Work with P&R teams to ensure smooth netlist handoff and timely execution of responsibilities.
  • Participate in flow reviews with the P&R team to optimize PPA for all blocks.
  • Lead timing sign-off for the post P&R database.
  • Verify chip compliance with DFM criteria by checking IR/EM results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in ASIC implementation, including synthesis, STA, and P&R for deep sub-micron nodes (preferably 16nm or smaller).
  • Experience in developing methodologies and scripts for physical synthesis.
  • Proven track record in taping out chips for high volume production.
  • Familiarity with chips having multiple power islands and power gating.

Skills:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in ASIC implementation (preferred).
  • Experience in leading physical design (preferred).
  • Strong exposure to UPF flow for low power design (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred).
  • Experience in multi-site/multi-team environments (preferred).
