Job Description:

Broadcom is seeking an experienced IC Design Engineer to develop the digital components of high-performance SerDes IP for next-generation communication systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in digital and mixed-signal design, system-level integration, and silicon validation for high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the architecture of transmitters, receivers, equalizers, and clock recovery circuits in high-performance SerDes.
  • Design, simulate, and optimize digital components for SerDes, focusing on data rate, jitter, and power consumption.
  • Analyze and resolve Lint and Clock/Reset Domain crossing issues in designs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure signal and power integrity in SerDes designs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of SerDes IP into larger systems.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications and test plans.
  • Support silicon bring-up and debugging efforts.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree with 12+ years of relevant industry experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in SerDes design for high-speed communication interfaces.

Skills:

  • Strong Logic Design and RTL coding skills (Verilog HDL).
  • Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal circuit design principles.
  • Understanding of process technologies' impact on SerDes design.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex mixed-signal IP blocks.
  • Knowledge of low power design and validation techniques, including UPF.
  • Familiarity with design constraint generation, logic synthesis, timing closure analysis, and Clock/Reset domain crossing checks.
