Job Description:

The Senior Hardware Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and validating hardware for automotive and consumer electronics, focusing on advanced measurement, sensing, and protection electronics. This role influences product strategy and ensures that hardware designs meet high standards for safety, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop system-level and hardware-level architectures for voltage sensing, current measurement, isolation monitoring, and diagnostics.
  • Create and validate signal-conditioning circuits for precise measurement of voltage, current, temperature, and insulation resistance.
  • Build, test, and characterize prototypes to meet performance, accuracy, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Select components and collaborate with PCB designers for robust designs suitable for harsh automotive environments.
  • Participate in hardware safety analyses including FMEDA, DFMEA, WCCA, and fault-injection test plans.
  • Design circuit monitoring hardware including measurement networks, isolation devices, ADC interfaces, and protection circuits.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, test engineering, manufacturing, and program management for seamless integration of hardware.
  • Support customer discussions and technical reviews.
  • Produce clear documentation including specifications, architecture diagrams, design reviews, and test plans.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolution of hardware issues across product programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in automotive or commercial product hardware development.
  • Knowledge of analog/digital circuit design and high-voltage sensing techniques.
  • Proficiency with hardware development tools such as Altium, Cadence, and SPICE-based simulation environments.
  • Experience with PCB layout constraints for high-voltage and low-noise precision measurement is a plus.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and C/C++ is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineering teams and resolve multi-disciplinary technical issues.
