Job Description:

We are looking for an Analog ASIC Electrical Engineer to join our team in Broomfield, CO, focusing on the development of ASIC designs for our quantum computers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analog CMOS circuit design and experience in transistor-level design and simulation, with a collaborative approach to integrating designs into complex electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of ASIC designs for quantum computers.
  • Design and optimize analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits using advanced CMOS technologies.
  • Translate quantum computer requirements into a comprehensive ASIC integration plan.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with system architects and other teams to understand subsystem impacts on ASIC architecture.
  • Deploy ASICs in challenging environments such as cryogenic and ultra-high vacuum settings.
  • Design layouts for schematic blocks ensuring compliance with design requirements.
  • Support verification at block, subsystem, and full-chip levels, co-authoring test plans and participating in silicon bring-up activities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk reduction activities for ASIC development.
  • Provide technical expertise to inform product development and process improvements.
  • Deliver products and achieve program goals in an R&D environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of IC design experience in a design engineering or R&D organization.
  • 5+ years of experience with transistor-level design and simulation using EDA tools.
  • 3+ years of experience with analog ASIC technologies development and verification.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder).
  • Must not be a national of the People's Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of analog CMOS circuit design, high-voltage experience preferred.
  • Experience with IC layout and high-density routing.
  • Knowledge of ASIC integration of digital and analog circuitry.
  • Experience in ASIC development for cryogenic environments.
  • Expertise in power, performance, and area trade-offs in ASIC design.
  • Strong communication skills and leadership abilities.
