NVIDIA, Santa Clara, CA 95051•Hybrid work
Job Description:
NVIDIA is seeking a world-class engineer to lead applied research at the intersection of AI and ASIC design, focusing on the integration of large language models and agentic AI into chip design processes. This role is pivotal in advancing NVIDIA's ASIC design capabilities and ensuring that innovative research translates into real-world applications.
Responsibilities:
- Apply LLMs, coding agents, and agentic systems to core ASIC design problems including RTL generation, design verification, and optimization.
- Deliver on NVIDIA's internal chip design schedules, measuring success by the efficiency of ASIC teams rather than just research output.
- Develop robust data generation and evaluation methodologies to differentiate between functional systems and demos, guiding automation efforts.
- Integrate coding agents and agentic AI into EDA and validation flows to streamline complex tasks and reduce ramp time.
- Push the boundaries of chip design using models and research built on open-source foundations, rapidly iterating from prototype to production.
- Collaborate with NVIDIA's Nemotron team to enhance models with domain-specific data and feedback, incorporating ASIC design expertise into model improvements.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of proven industry experience in ASIC design and optimization.
- Demonstrated expertise in front-end ASIC design, verification, and timing, with experience applying agentic AI to chip design problems.
- Experience in building LLM-based agents or AI tools that are user-dependent, focusing on context engineering and tool integration.
- Hands-on experience with custom model training and fine-tuning over proprietary technical data.
Skills:
- Excellent self-motivation and creativity with a passion for applied research.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure (Docker, Slurm, CI/CD).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex technical work.
