Job Description:

Positron AI is a leader in developing custom hardware systems designed to enhance AI inference performance and efficiency. The company aims to create the best AI inference systems in the world, focusing on performance per dollar and performance per watt.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the overall chip power strategy, defining approaches for various power types including dynamic, leakage, and peak power.
  • Develop accurate power models throughout the development lifecycle, from architectural estimation to gate-level estimation.
  • Perform power analysis to validate estimates against real workload behavior.
  • Drive power optimization techniques such as clock gating and voltage islands.
  • Collaborate with the backend team on power integrity issues including IR drop and power grid planning.
  • Define power-on sequencing and power domain specifications.
  • Lead power-aware simulation and verification processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align power decisions across chip development.
  • Utilize AI-driven tools for power analysis and optimization.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of ASIC design experience.
  • Deep expertise in low-power design techniques and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with UPF/CPF power specification and verification flows.
  • Expert-level proficiency with power analysis tools like PrimePower and Joules.
  • Strong background with advanced process nodes.
  • Solid understanding of RTL design and its impact on chip power.
  • Proven experience achieving aggressive power targets in production silicon.

Skills:

  • Experience with AI accelerator architectures.
  • Familiarity with LPDDR and HBM memory interfaces.
  • Knowledge of PCIe.
  • Experience with dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS).
  • Exposure to thermal modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with silicon power validation.
