Principal Power IC Design Engineer

Empower Semiconductor is seeking a Principal Power IC Design Engineer to lead the development of high-performance power management solutions for AI processors and data centers. This role involves architecting, designing, and optimizing advanced power delivery systems, working collaboratively across departments to drive innovation in power management technology.

Responsibilities:

• Design IP blocks and share knowledge with the team.
• Supervise top-level IC floorplan and layout development.
• Conduct IC evaluation, including initial bring-up, detailed bench characterization, and timely debugging and design fixes.
• Develop and support test qualification plans to ensure products are ready for mass production.

Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 12-15+ years of experience in Power IC design (less experience acceptable for junior applicants).
• Experience in switching converters design, including power stage and controller architecture.
• Proficiency in transistor circuit design in areas such as bandgap references, voltage/current references, variable gain amplifiers, continuous time filters, PLLs, ADCs, voltage regulators, temperature sensors, I/O blocks, DACs, and protection circuits.
• Strong knowledge of device physics and deep sub-micron processes.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Cadence design and verification tools.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
