Job Description:
Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join its innovative team in Hoboken, NJ. This role involves designing, developing, and testing advanced hardware systems for quantum technology, contributing to groundbreaking solutions in the field of quantum computing.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of platforms based on classical and quantum photonics.
- Design custom electronics using Altium Designer in collaboration with other hardware engineers.
- Evaluate component performance through board-level and system-level lab testing.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers, software engineers, and quantum scientists during lab testing phases.
- Work with contract manufacturers to procure custom electronics and address design changes.
- Validate performance of custom electronics through lab testing and document issues.
- Maintain documentation for milestone events throughout the design cycle.
- Integrate hardware into complete systems by collaborating with mechanical, firmware, and FPGA engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (EE or CE) from an accredited university.
- 6+ years of experience with a BS or 4+ years with a Master's degree in EE or CE.
Skills:
- Proven experience in PCB design from schematic capture to layout and review.
- Familiarity with ECAD suites, preferably Altium.
- Strong foundation in PCB design best practices for Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
- Experience with voltage regulators, LDOs, and switch mode power supplies (SMPS).
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics design.
- Advanced knowledge of simulation tools like SPICE.
- Experience with digital interfaces and protocols (I2C, CAN, UART, SPI).
- Hands-on experience with debugging and testing using lab instruments.
- Proficiency in coding with C, C++, MATLAB/Octave, or Python.
