Job Description:

Amazon Leo is seeking a Sr. PCBA Manufacturing Engineer to support its low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, aimed at providing reliable internet globally. This role involves collaboration across various teams to enhance the manufacturing and delivery of electrical sub-systems and PCBA, ensuring high quality and efficiency in production processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to provide feedback on PCB/PCBA DFM and escalate manufacturing challenges early in development.
  • Lead the PCBA Manufacturing Qualification process, defining readiness requirements and conducting milestone reviews.
  • Investigate and develop new manufacturing technologies to improve PCBA quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Resolve operational issues during pre-production builds and optimize manufacturing processes in collaboration with various teams.
  • Analyze production failures and defects, identifying root causes to prevent recurrence as part of continuous improvement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for risk reduction and simplification in PCBA manufacturing processes.
  • Deliver capabilities in manufacturing processes, including equipment capability and quality controls.
  • Monitor product and process success through production ramp and provide regular status updates.
  • Deploy and qualify polymerics equipment for high-volume production.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Electrical) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in PCBA/PCB production and manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with board assembly processes and equipment such as stencil, paste print, and SMT reflow.
  • Experience leading DFX reviews for manufacturability and quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Experience leading teams in troubleshooting manufacturability and process issues.
