Job Description:

Join Apple’s Silicon Engineering Group as a Circuits Engineer, where you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to designing state-of-the-art ASICs. This role offers the chance to work on groundbreaking products that enhance customer experiences and redefine industries. You will collaborate with various disciplines to develop innovative solutions, focusing on custom digital megacells and improving chip power efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop custom circuits to enhance chip power efficiency.
  • Collaborate with power teams, product design, and architects to define specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct design, analysis, modeling/simulation, and circuit level specifications.
  • Perform schematic capture, spice simulation, and margin verification across PVT.
  • Work closely with the layout team to ensure design quality and oversee layout processes.
  • Drive circuit methodology to achieve high design quality metrics.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in designing low voltage custom circuits.
  • Good understanding of deep submicron device physics and leakage mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/Perl) and CAD automation tools.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard circuit simulation and design tools.

Skills:

  • Experience with machine learning accelerators, SRAM circuits, and non-volatile memories.
  • Familiarity with ultra-low power amplifiers and DC/DC converters.
  • Understanding of digital on-chip sensors and high-speed clocking.
  • Experience with time to digital converters (TDCs).
