Job Description:
Collins Aerospace, a leader in aerospace and defense technology, is seeking a Principal Electrical or Computer Engineer to join their Microelectronics Technology team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and verification of advanced testbenches for high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs, contributing to critical Mission Systems programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and verification of advanced testbenches for digital ASICs and FPGAs.
- Architect and design verification environments using SystemVerilog with OVM/UVM.
- Create written test plans, test cases, and track code and functional coverage.
- Develop testbenches for RTL block verification using VHDL or SystemVerilog.
- Recommend tools and practices for continuous improvement in ASIC/FPGA verification flow.
- Provide technical leadership for project verification teams, including planning and status reporting.
- Contribute to engineering estimates for new program pursuits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 5 years of experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
- Experience in developing and simulating RTL designs using VHDL and/or Verilog in a professional environment.
- Proven ability to design and execute verification testbenches for RTL blocks using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Knowledge of chip-level verification methodologies, including constrained-random testing and functional coverage.
- Experience with revision control systems like Git or Subversion.
Skills:
- Proficiency in ASIC/FPGA lab validation and debug using standard lab equipment.
- Familiarity with DFT, manufacturability, and production test concepts.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and scripting languages (C, C++, Python, Perl, shell).
- Experience with ASIC/FPGA simulation and synthesis tools such as QuestaSim, Synplify, Quartus, or Vivado.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
