Electrical Engineer I – ASIC/FPGA [Onsite]

Collins Aerospace, a leader in aerospace and defense technology, is seeking an entry-level ASIC/FPGA Engineer 1 to join their Applied Research and Technology Microelectronics Technology team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role involves working on cutting-edge defense solutions and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Support requirements capture and ASIC/FPGA digital architecture.
• Implement ASIC/FPGA digital design using RTL.
• Support verification and system integration of ASIC/FPGA implementations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Skills:

• RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
• Experience with ASIC and/or FPGA design tools (e.g., Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado).
• Debugging and root cause investigations on hardware using schematics and digital lab equipment.
