Job Description:
Dover Imaging & Identification (DII), a segment of Dover Corporation, specializes in designing and manufacturing industrial equipment and software solutions for various markets including marking & coding and product traceability. With a global presence in over 28 countries and a workforce of more than 3,000 employees, DII offers a collaborative and multidisciplinary work environment. We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as an Electrical Design Engineer, focusing on the development of next-generation marking and coding equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Design engineering for new and legacy products.
- Implement hardware design based on requirements specifications.
- Perform circuit analysis and simulations to ensure correct operation under various environmental factors.
- Develop and implement hardware test plans.
- Design and document interconnects and harnesses.
- Observe requirements for design for manufacturing, testing, field service, and cost.
- Interface with engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers to understand application space and business requirements.
- Support current products by finding design solutions for obsolete components and designs.
- Communicate with OEM manufacturers and third-party engineering partners for design and verification solutions.
- Follow best practices to improve design quality.
- Participate in electrical and cross-functional design reviews.
- Work hands-on with PLCs, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other electrical hardware.
- Collect and process data, documenting and reporting test results.
- Provide understandable feedback to software and reliability engineers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Firmware, or Hardware verification; Master’s Degree is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand electrical/electronic schematics.
- Ability to read and write simple to mid-complexity VHDL code for FPGA.
- Experience with circuit design, analysis, and SPICE simulations.
- Experience with common electronic instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Embedded C programming experience is a plus.
- Experience with PLC programming, Arduino, or custom hardware/software test beds.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet, USB, Serial, SPI, I2C.
- Experience with fine-pitch electronic circuit assembly and rework.
