ASIC/FPGA Engineer III, Technical Lead

Job Description:

Join Lockheed Martin Space as an ASIC & FPGA Engineer, supporting diverse programs in military and commercial space sectors. This full-time position is based in Sunnyvale, CA; King of Prussia, PA; Denver, CO; or Highlands Ranch, CO, with a flexible 9x80 work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with multiple programs as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead a high-performing team of up to 7 people, prioritizing and allocating tasks for successful project execution.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring results within +/- 10% of schedule and budget.
  • Monitor and manage team workloads, tracking progress and ensuring clear communication with project engineers and managers.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence through mentorship and guidance on architecture, code, and best practices.
  • Balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring project oversight is maintained.
  • Review and release all work products to agreed quality standards.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and scope new opportunities and support completed work.
  • Perform advanced chip architecture work for new programs.
  • Prepare regular status reports and materials for operations reviews.
  • Assist manager in reviewing project plans and technical proposal development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in ASIC or FPGA design, debug, or verification.
  • US Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Skills:

  • Experience in leading or managing ASIC or FPGA projects.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with a strong desire to learn.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • Experience in space system design and understanding of related hardware requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent, Microsoft Office, and Atlassian JIRA or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Control Accounts Manager (CAM) using Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Customer-facing communication experience in product/services sales or marketing.
