Job Description:
Amazon Leo is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer to lead projects related to its low Earth orbit satellite network, aimed at providing reliable internet connectivity to underserved areas. The role involves designing embedded software for satellite and ground systems, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of embedded software for Amazon Leo products.
- Mentor a team of software engineers on best practices.
- Guide software designs from requirements gathering through mass production.
- Respond flexibly to high-priority issues.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one language.
- 5+ years of experience in leading design or architecture of systems.
- Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, or RTOS.
Skills:
- Kernel programming and device drivers experience.
- Familiarity with networking and consumer devices.
- Experience with ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C interfaces, and flash devices.
- Knowledge of ARM-based systems and FPGA components.
- Understanding of manufacturing diagnostics and device provisioning processes.
