Job Description:

Ferric, Inc. is a New York City-based technology startup revolutionizing power delivery for Integrated Circuits and Electronic Assemblies through innovative thin-film magnetic inductors integrated with CMOS technology. The company is seeking a Design Engineer to develop advanced integrated voltage regulators for various applications, including high-power SoCs and ultra-low power mobile platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design analog and mixed-signal circuits according to architectural requirements and technical specifications in various CMOS nodes.
  • Contribute to the architectural definition of designs and chip integration, collaborating with business and application teams to define specifications for upcoming ICs.
  • Research and investigate new circuit techniques to enhance Ferric ICs.
  • Perform analysis, design, and verification simulations to ensure building blocks meet specifications at both schematic and post-layout extraction levels.
  • Document assigned blocks, conduct design review meetings, and participate in reviews.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Characterization, Test, and Application Engineers to verify, characterize, and debug owned circuit blocks.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or MSEE with 2+ years of experience in full-custom CMOS design.
  • Design experience in bandgaps, ADCs/DACs, PLLs, DLLs, LDOs, temperature sensors, switched-capacitor circuits, op-amps, comparators, and biasing circuits.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD Software: Cadence Virtuoso Schematic and Layout, Spectre, APS, Calibre DRC/LVS/PEX, CppSim.
  • Experience with high switching frequency integrated voltage regulators in standard CMOS technologies.
  • Expertise in low-power consumption analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Strong understanding of process and device physics concepts.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal verification methodologies.
  • Ability to layout critical analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Experience with backend verification tools including EMIR and static/dynamic MOSFET voltage checks.
  • Proficient in Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Programming skills in Verilog, Verilog-AMS, Python, Perl, Tcl, Cadence Skill, and MATLAB.
