Job Description:
Join Lockheed Martin as a Principal SoC Engineer in the Silicon Solutions team, focusing on the development of advanced avionics products. This role is based in various locations including Huntsville, AL, Sunnyvale, CA, and Denver, CO, and requires full-time office presence with a flexible 9x80 work schedule. As a Subject Matter Expert in SoC development, you will lead efforts to enhance the efficiency of ASIC, FPGA, and SoC verification and validation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of ASIC, FPGA, SoC development including architecture, design, and analysis.
- Collaborate with a Principal Verification Engineer to create cohesive SoC development strategies that minimize costs and schedules.
- Mentor team members on best practices in verification and validation.
- Evaluate new tools and methodologies for SoC development, providing recommendations and training.
- Drive automation and rigorous processes focusing on CI pipelines and quality monitoring.
- Work closely with design and verification teams to develop integrated solutions.
- Develop business cases to support improvements in SoC development.
- Conduct technical reviews and present findings to stakeholders.
- Provide achievable SOC solutions directly to programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of professional experience in SoC development, architecture, design, and implementation.
- Experience with methodologies and tools for SoC designs, including AMD Versal and Microchip PolarFire SoC.
- Proven experience in the ASIC/FPGA life cycle including design, simulation, verification, and testing.
- Experience leading engineering projects and managing schedules.
- Strong HDL programming skills in VHDL, SystemVerilog, and/or Verilog.
- Experience mentoring and training engineers.
- Ability to present technical concepts to customers and executive leadership.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Skills:
- Expertise in modern ASIC/FPGA/SoC verification strategies including UVM/SystemVerilog and formal verification.
- Knowledge of hardware emulation techniques.
- Familiarity with microelectronics radiation mitigation for space applications.
- Experience with foundry and packaging technologies.
- Scripting skills in Perl, TCL, or Python.
- Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project and JIRA.
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
