Responsibilities:
- Perform physical design implementation of custom CPU designs from RTL to GDS.
- Conduct all aspects of the CPU physical design flow including synthesis, place and route, and static timing analysis.
- Conduct verification and signoff including formal equivalence verification and reliability verification.
- Analyze results and collaborate with various teams to improve CPU microarchitectures.
- Possess expertise in structural and physical design aspects, including timing closure and power analysis.
- Work with EDA vendors to enhance tool capabilities for high-speed, low-power CPU design.
- Optimize CPU design to improve power, frequency, and area parameters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related STEM field with 1+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree in a related field.
- Experience in VLSI circuit design and synthesis, static timing analysis, and low power design.
Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in x86 CPU architecture.
- Proficiency in TCL, Perl, or Python programming.
