Hardware Design Engineer- Viasat Government

Viasat is seeking a hardware engineer to join its Government - Secure Network Systems (SNS) team. This role involves designing and testing next-generation encryption devices for high-speed and ultra-low power digital circuit boards. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with various engineering teams and support production and operational networks.

Responsibilities:

• Design, document, implement, prototype, and test next-generation encryption devices.
• Collaborate with system, programmable logic, software, and test engineers.
• Support production and product support for operational networks.
• Develop and certify the Next Generation End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) and Cryptographic High Value Product (CHVP).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of hardware design or sustaining experience.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.

Skills:

• Foundational knowledge of analog and digital logic and timing considerations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
• Familiarity with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
• Experience designing complex digital systems (Processors, FPGAs, etc.).
• Understanding of high-speed design techniques.
• Experience with schematic creation and CAD PWB design reviews.
