Job Description:
General Motors is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer specializing in Connectivity Modules to enhance automotive connectivity systems. This hybrid role requires the candidate to work in Warren, MI, or Sunnyvale, CA, three days a week. The ideal candidate will contribute to developing advanced technology solutions that ensure safety and improve customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement detailed validation plans for hardware components and systems supporting Connectivity technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical designers, PCB layout, product managers, and RF/Wireless engineers.
- Utilize lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers for testing and validation.
- Analyze and interpret data from validation tests, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Validate power delivery and stability under various operating conditions.
- Work with silicon vendors to align on SoC bring-up and interface characteristics.
- Create test reports and validation metrics, recommending corrective actions based on test results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on validation experience with embedded and connectivity systems, preferably in automotive or consumer electronics.
- Experience validating high-performance computer systems and high-speed digital interfaces.
Skills:
- Expertise in using lab instruments like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex hardware and system issues.
- Familiarity with power management ICs and low-power design principles.
