Job Description:
Join Cisco's Common Hardware Group (CHG) in San Jose, CA, where you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge silicon, optics, and hardware platforms for core Switching, Routing, and Wireless products. This role focuses on designing high-speed interconnects for global data centers, supporting both internal and external customers with Silicon One high-speed interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute electrical characterization testing for high-speed interconnect devices.
- Support characterization, validation, compliance, and system integration of Silicon One devices.
- Collaborate with ASIC, system, and signal integrity teams to evaluate design tradeoffs and optimize solutions.
- Develop automation and analysis tools for lab measurements and data processing using Python and/or Matlab.
- Drive methodology development and best practices for high-speed solutions.
Qualifications:
- MSEE or Computer Engineering degree with 5+ years of lab experience, or BSEE with 7+ years of experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with high-speed interface systems and lab measurements.
- Experience with high-speed interfaces and analog building blocks (PLL, CDR, CTLE, DFE, FFE, FEC).
- Programming knowledge in Python and C/C++.
- Strong debugging skills.

- Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 and OIF specifications.
