Microelectronics Engineer I

Orion Edge is a leading defense technology company specializing in electronic warfare and advanced hardware systems. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team and support the full lifecycle of complex, mission-critical hardware design.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of digital circuits and embedded systems, focusing on microcontrollers, FPGAs, and Software Defined Radios.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, codebases, design specifications, and design review materials.
• Perform hands-on lab work using standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters) to debug, troubleshoot, and validate electronic hardware performance.
• Research and analyze component obsolescence issues and support the identification of replacement parts in compliance with project and industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, RF, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless system integration and performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 1-2 years of professional or academic experience in microelectronics, microcontrollers, embedded systems, or integrated circuit design and testing.

Skills:

• Experience working in lab environments and familiarity with basic RF lab tools and procedures.
• Familiarity with microelectronics CAD tools and/or VHDL/Verilog for FPGAs or ASICs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
